Grow a Row, Share the Harvest: Join the Como Grow a Row Campaign
CCSL is again partnering with Como Park Lutheran Church on an exciting community action this season: Como Grow a Row. The idea is simple, fun, and open to anyone with a patch of dirt, a raised bed, or even just a container on a porch — grow a little extra this year and share it with neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
You Don't Need a Farm — Just a Little Extra Space
This campaign is designed for home gardeners, not commercial growers. Whether you have a full backyard plot or a couple of pots on your balcony, you can participate. Even one extra zucchini plant or a few extra rows of lettuce can make a real difference for someone in our community.
Plenty of Time to Plant for Big Results
It's not too late to get growing! Right now is a great time to plant:
Summer squash – one of the most productive, low-fuss crops you can grow. A single plant can produce an abundance of squash all season long, making it perfect for sharing.
Greens and brassicas for succession planting – think lettuce, spinach, kale, and other cool-season favorites. Planting now sets you up for a wonderful fall harvest, and you can keep seeding in batches for a steady supply.
